Golden Gopher Battalion
Students of the Golden Gopher Battalion come from multiple areas around the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area. The Golden Gopher Battalion is comprised of students from not only the University of Minnesota, but from 11 crosstown schools: Augsburg University, Bethel University, St. Catherine University, Concordia University, Crown College, Hamline University, Macalester College, Metropolitan State University, North Central University, University of Northwestern, and University of St. Thomas.
Fighting Saints Battalion
The Fighting Saints Battalion comprises students from Saint John’s University, The College of Saint Benedict, and Saint Cloud State University. The students within the battalion are active in the universities and various ROTC events, including Student leadership organizations, athletic departments, Ranger Challenge, Northern Warfare Competition, and Bataan Death March.
Maverick Battalion
The Minnesota State University at Mankato Army ROTC offers a program enabling students/Cadets to compete for a commission as an officer in the United States Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard. The four-year Army ROTC curriculum develops the student’s leadership, managerial, and organizational abilities. Leadership skills acquired through ROTC and the practical application of skills provided in the program transfer easily to civilian career goals.
